Frequently Asked Questions

Here you can find answers to questions we receive from our prospective participants.

Yes, we can accept two contracting movements as two pieces, as long as they are performed in the desired timeframe. We prefer to see contrasting pieces or movements to evaluate the performer’s range of skills.

The two pieces can be submitted either as a single video link or split into two separate videos.

It is unnecessary to record the pieces at the same time or venue as long as the participant’s age stays the same.

It is unnecessary to record the pieces at the same time or venue as long as the participant’s age stays the same.

A participant can compete in two age categories. However, the video recordings must be made in 2020 and correspond to the participant’s age at the date of the recording.

The recording’s video/audio requirement must not be from the multiple clips combined into a single music piece or movement.  There must be clear proof of continuity in the video.

When you submit the video, you give Newport Virtuosi permission to distribute the video link among the jurors and publish it on our resources as we see fit. In any case, it is your responsibility to ensure that this video’s use will not violate owners’ intellectual property rights.
